Yesterday, Withings announced a stylish new fitness tracker called the Activité. The new device combines the elegant design of a wrist watch with the features of a fitness tracker.

Unlike the Pebble, the Samsung Gear 2, or the Nike FuelBand, the Activité has a circular face protected by sapphire glass. The device will also include leather wrist straps, making for a more premium feel.

The device includes various sensors that allows it to track steps taken, sleep quality, calories burned, and distance traveled. The fitness tracker connects to the companion Withings Health Mate app for iPhone using Bluetooth LE. Founder of Paris-based Withings Éric Careel told Quartz:

“We do not want to create a new gadget with electronics that you have to recharge every three days. We want to create something that you will be happy to wear a long time, not only two months, three months, but a very long time.”

The company is proud to announce that the device will be powered by a traditional watch battery, which will last up to a year. The device is able to hold a charge for so long because of its limited tracking capabilities.

The Withings Activité will be available this fall for US$390 and will come in two colours, black and silver.
