Tip #1: Find what you’re looking for with Video Chapters

Video Chapters help you better navigate videos by allowing you to jump forward to a specific section of a video, rewatch a portion of a video, and more. YouTube is also extending this feature to include a new list view that you can find by tapping or clicking the chapter title in the player.

Tip #2: A more streamlined player page

To make captions more accessible, YouTube has moved the button to a more prominent location, directly on the video player on phones. YouTube has also moved the autoplay toggle to make it easier to turn on or off while you’re watching.

Tip #3: Use gestures to make YouTube more efficient and work for you

YouTube is making it easier to enter and exit full screen mode by simply swiping up to enter full screen and down to exit. And if you’d rather see how much time is counting down vs. the time that’s elapsed in a video, simply tap the timestamp to switch back and forth.

Tip #4: New suggested actions enhance experience

YouTube is also rolling out suggested actions, which prompt you to rotate your phone or play a video in VR when we think you can have a better experience. The company plan to introduce more suggested actions in the future.

Tip #5: Go to bed with Bedtime Reminders

YouTube has recently introduced bedtime reminders, a new digital wellbeing tool that lets you set reminders at specific times to stop watching videos and go to bed.
