Facebook 3.2 Update Includes “Places” To Stalk Friends
Facebook for the iPhone is one of the best apps out there. You can easily keep in touch with friends and “Like” as many posts as you can on the live news feed. Want to lose an hour of life? Just launch the Facebook iPhone app and you’ll beg yourself for mercy.
The latest Facebook iPhone update, version 3.2 brings some new features. One of major features is the “Places” option, where you can let your friends know where you are (and vice versa) and stalk them. It’s literally taking Facebook stalking to a whole new level.
I downloaded the 3.2 update and it busted my Facebook as nothing would load. I reinstalled the app and now it seems Facebook is offline as I can’t login on my iPhone. I am happy to see that this update includes background uploading for iOS4 and the ability to set the privacy of individual status updates.
It appears that Places is not live in Canada yet.
Nevertheless, here’s what’s new in the 3.2 update:
New features:
– Places. Use Places to see where your friends are and share where you are.
– You can set the privacy of individual status updates.
– See all recipients of inbox messages.
– (iOS 4) Upload photos and videos in the background.
Bug fixes:
– Fixed a delay when commenting on a post or posting a status update.
– Fixed some Notes display bugs.
– Fixed some reliability bugs in News Feed.

Facebook available for mr as well. You think it has something to do with te jailbreak on 4.0? My iPad handled the update just fine.

Really? You have to get outside more, go fishing, go bike riding without your phone or laptop, go hiking into a mountain range, again without your phone or laptop. Do something. Why do you feel the need to let everyone know what your doing, and why do you need to know. Can you have a life on your own?
I don’t know why its Not available in my region as Places for Facebook has support for similar services like Foursquare, Gowalla, and Yelp. I use Foursquare already and its no problem what so ever. Also the app is still quite buggy and crashes… Not a really good update as far as i can see…

Not working on your jailbroken device? Goto sbsettings > more > mobile substrate addons > disable the bitesms one
I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, but I hope it has the option to disable location status. I’m not a big fan of announcing that I’m not home, so breaking in to my house would be relatively easy lol.
Ps: off topic but I love the new mobile disqus look, very nice but I appear to be missing the option to share my post with Facebook and twitter.

But, what does disabling the bitesms “mobile substrate addon” do? I use biteSMS (more than Facebook ) so I don’t want it to stop working. Also, I have two biteSMS related things in mobile substrate addons – biteSBarClient and biteSMSsb. Which one needs to be disabled – or both?

Providing Facebook with your exact location seems like a great idea. Considering how well they have treated our data in the past this seems like a great way to go.

I don’t have sbsettings but it still didn’t work, removed iphonedelivery and it works now!
Yes I do have a jailbroken device but bitesms is not in my option in sbsettings.
if u have bitesms u gotta go disable it to go on facebook but if u wanna use bitesms u gotta go re enable it but both dont work together so well
