Apple Officially Launches iTunes Radio in Australia

ITunes Radio

After launching iTunes Radio with iOS 7 in September 2013 in the US, Apple announced today that its popular music streaming service is now available in Australia. Those with access to iTunes Radio have already enjoyed the free music streaming service that provides quality music using the iTunes Store’s catalogue of songs.

Apple today announced iTunes Radio™ is now available to music fans in Australia. iTunes Radio is a free Internet radio service featuring over 100 stations and an incredible catalog of music from the iTunes Store, combined with features only iTunes® can deliver. When you tune into iTunes Radio on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC or Apple TV, you’ll have access to stations inspired by the music you already listen to, Featured Stations curated by Apple and genre-focused stations that are personalized just for you. iTunes Radio evolves based on the music you play and download.

Starting today, Australian Apple users can enjoy creating their own radio station based on an artist or song. iTunes Radio depends on the user: The more you use it, the more it knows what you like.

Besides offering free access to thousands of songs, Apple’s music streaming service provides exclusive music from new and popular artists. The service is ad supported and free for every user based in the US and now Australia. Those who want an ad-free experience can opt for iTunes Match, which costs AU$34.99 per year.

With the launch of iTunes Radio in Australia, we can hope that Canada is next on the list for two reasons: First, Canada is closer to the US than Australia, and secondly, as we previously reported, some users have seen iTunes Radio pop up sporadically on their devices.
