Rogers Plans $2/month Price Increase to Unlimited Value Plans on June 1st

MobileSyrup is reporting Rogers plans to increase its ‘Unlimited Value Plans’ by $2/month starting June 1st. The increase brings the starting price of monthly plans to $26.75 to $44.75 per month, based on an internal memo:

Beginning June 1, 2012, the monthly service fee on all Unlimited Value Plans will increase by $2/month. Customers will still be able to benefit from all the same great features like unlimited messaging and unlimited early evenings and weekends – but the current pricing will end May 31, 2012.

So this means those on Unlimited Value Plans will be paying $24 more per year. Earlier today Rogers launched the first new retail concept store in Vancouver.

I heard a while back that when they make changes like this, you legally have the option to cancel your contract(s) with Rogers because of the price increase. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks!

You’re right, but these changes won’t affect existing clients.
