Black Friday–Cyber Monday Boosts iPad Air Sales by 51%, Report Says

The first weekend of the “official” shopping season has passed with strong Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. The first data coming from analysts and retailers already suggested that Apple had strong sales — for instance, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray has noticed a 9% higher traffic in Apple Stores — but what does the device usage reveal? The most sought-after device was the iPad Air, Localytics, a market analytics company reveals.

After comparing the weekly growth during the Black Friday weekend with the previous weekend, Localytics notices an impressive 51% growth in iPad Air devices, while the iPad mini has grown 26%.

As the numbers reveal: the iPad Air was the uncrowned king of the first “official”shopping weekend, and, in an interesting turn of events, the iPhone 5c grabbed the second place in terms of popularity, alongside the iPad mini (non-Retina). The colourful iPhone is getting more traction, as the latest data reveals, than the iPhone 5s.

The Retina iPad mini ranked fifth in popularity, according to Localytics‘ data, as the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD and the Samsung Galaxy S4 grabbed the third and fourth places, respectively.
