iOS 4.3.3 Coming Soon To An iPhone Near You

With the latest drama about iOS location services and data tracking, Apple indicated that it would push out an iOS update to address the issue. It now seems that the iOS 4.3.3 update is due within the next week or two.

The upcoming iOS update (build 8J2) will reportedly address the following:

– The update will no longer back up the location database to iTunes.
– The size of the location database will be reduced.
– The location database will be deleted entirely when Location Services are turned off.
– Battery life improvements.
– iPod bug fixes.

As usual, jailbreakers and unlockers should avoid this update until further notice.

Fail on the photo. We can see build number 8J2 in the application’s title, but it’s blurred in the application.

Woohoo on the improved battery life. I’ve noticed varying levels of decreased life since the 4.3 update.

What about those with iPhone 3G? I assume this fix won’t be available to those users, but this bug should still be fixed for them!

As do i, but it has gone back up a bit as apps have undated. My problem is kindle for iphone, thats draining lots of power. But doesn’t every update promise better battery life?

Battery life improvement is a result of reducing the size of the location database. Like I said before Apples official announcement, they’ll just keep on tracking but this time no one will know because the database will be encrypted.
