Google Assistant for iPhone launched yesterday at Google I/O, and I can tell you right now, many Canadians have already downloaded the assistant to their devices via this workaround to try it out.
The Google Assistant is powered by machine-learning and AI, learning and becoming smarter over time, being able to provide answers in conversational form, understanding context of your questions.
YouTube channel iTwe4kz has posted a video comparison of Apple’s Siri versus Google Assistant on the iPhone. I have to admit when I saw the video title, I already knew the winner would be the Google Assistant, and I was indeed correct.

The video does a good job of showing just far Siri lags behind when it comes to machine-learning and AI right now. Let’s hope WWDC brings some good news.
Google Assistant is only available for U.S. customers, but this little trick will make sure you can try Google Assistant for yourself. Don’t forget to enable the Assistant iOS widget. Also, you tell Siri to “launch Assistant” and it’ll bring up the Google Assistant iOS app.
