Doppelgänger challenges players to a game of memory in which retention is the key to success.
Doppelgänger is an arcade version of the game “Pairs”. For those not familiar with the game, Doppelgänger is a memory matching game where players match two cards of the same type.
In typical memory matching games, players continually tap on two cards in an attempt to find a match. Once the matches are found, the game moves to the next level. While Doppelgänger does this as well, the game adds a major new twist to the classic game.
In Doppelgänger, players are allowed only a certain number of misses per level. A miss is achieved by tapping on two cards and having them not match. Successfully revealing all of the pairs will move players to the next level, however missing too many will end the game.
The game features more than 40 levels with over 200 card designs and the number of playable cards increases each round. In this way, the game levels become progressively more difficult. The game also includes a combo system and bonus levels but these achievements require strategic and skillful play.
Players who achieve a high score can post their scores to an online score board and see how they rank among the world.
Doppelgänger features very good and simple desigsn, subtle sounds, and a fantastic help page to get players set up and going. The game is priced low and provides hours of entertainment for both individual players and groups.
