QuickPwn for Mac OS X Released!

Whoa…seems like these new jailbreaking apps are popping up left, right, and center. Today we announced the released of the updated WinPwn 2.5 Beta 1 for Windows users. So Windows users so far have WinPwn and QuickPwn to jailbreak their iPhones. What about Mac OS X users? How come they only get to use the Pwnage Tool?

Well, that has all changed today because QuickPwn for Mac OS X was just released by the Dev Team!

How is QuickPwn for Mac different from the Pwnage Tool?
“QuickPwn is not a replacement for PwnageTool, they are different tools and provide different features, QuickPwn is for quickly pwning a device, whereas PwnageTool is designed to custom build and tailor the ipsw production process, both tools will be actively developed in the future.”

How to Use QuickPwn for Mac

QuickPwn for Mac will only work on iPhones or iPod Touches running 2.0.2 firmware. If you’re not on 2.0.2, update via iTunes then use QuickPwn.

Click here to download the QuickPwn for Mac torrent file. If you’re not familiar with BitTorrent, do some Googl’ing and find out more. I downloaded the 20MB file in minute or so! I just uploaded the QuickPwn for Mac file to RapidShare. Click here to download it.

Yeah, I agree. QuickPwn is pretty sweet though…super quick to jailbreak which is awesome.

I’m not sure I understand the difference between Pwnage Tool and QuickPwn, technically speaking. Is QuickPwn just a streamlined version of Pwnage, or does it work similar to Ziphone, where you can see the command line scrolling down the phone, as it Jailbreaks.

I trolled the Dev Team’s blog, but couldn’t find an answer.
