Mobile Fitness Tracking is here for the iPhone – Gym Technik

This is Barryn here, and welcome to my inaugural post here on! I will be posting every now and then to help out while our resident iPhone guru is on vacation in Dubai.

Just to give a little background, I unfortunately (or fortunately, however you want to look at it) only came to worship Mr. Jobs after my iPhone 3G purchase when they were released here in Vancouver earlier this year.  Since then my iPhone has somehow become grafted to my skin and I can’t put it down.  I only recently bought a new PC laptop, but when the time comes (which will probably sooner than later), I know my next purchase will be a Mac!

Ok, let’s get on to the review for Mobile Fitness Tracking for the iPhone.  I wouldn’t exactly call myself a fitness freak, but I definitely take an interest in it and have been working out for almost 10 years now.  So when I came across Mobile Fitness Tracking from Gym Technik for my iPhone, I was interested right away.  Setting up your own account takes less than a minute, and best of all is totally free!

The rest of the website and getting yourself started is as easy as the registration.  You can create custom workouts using their extensive library of exercises, complete with animated images and descriptions on how to perform those exercises.  Can’t find an exercise?  No problem, you can add your own custom exercise to your routine. From registration to having my first exercise routine setup, took less than 5 minutes for me!  Here’s what the Co-Founder and CEO has to say about their service:

Like the name implies, this program keeps track of your progress, from how much weight you’re lifting, to your own weight and body fat percentages.  The website takes your information, and creates graphs to show you how you’re progressing.  This might not sound like a great feature to some, but even after my limited use so far, it is great at keeping you working your hardest and pushing yourself to surpass your personal bests.

I have only been able to use this program for about a week now, but my initial impressions are very positive.  From beginners to people who have been working out for a while, this is a great tool to either help you get started, or to help push you harder and further in your workouts.  From their website, it looks like there are many great features to come, which will only make this an even better program than it already is!  So head over to, give it a try and let me know what you think!  Maybe we could have an fitness challenge??
