Listen to TEAM 1040 Canucks Radio on iPhone using FStream
*Update: FStream URL updated! Thanks to Kevin for the email!*
Just how much room is left on the Canucks bandwagon? With their teeter-tottering season, it seems like everyone is either loving or hating the Canucks. Yesterday, TEAM 1040 just announced how to listen to Canucks Radio streaming on your iPhone for FREE!
How to Listen to TEAM 1040 Canucks Radio on your iPhone
**An easier solution: download the CHUM Radio app!
1. Launch the App Store and download FStream and install it.
2. Open FStream, go to Favorites –> edit –> Add new web radio –>add any name, E.G. TEAM1040
3. Type in the following URL: http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/CKSTAMAAC.pls
4. Leave format and bit rate empty, the software will automatically detect these. Click done.
5. Go to Play and select your new TEAM1040 listing and enjoy listening to the Canucks!

Coupled with the Score Mobile app and the The Hockey News app, you can follow up on the box scores and listen in to your hockey broadcasts too!
I know there are other solutions out there for online radio using your iPhone, such as listening to Astral Media stations. However, if you’re looking to listen to sports radio and the TEAM 1040 Canucks Radio broadcast, now you can do so no matter where you are in the world!
The big question remains: Will the Canucks make the playoffs? 😉

Does the same apply for the team 990 here in Montreal? Do you know of their URL?
Cooooool Cooool
Thx Gary
Yeah, Same situation but I’d like to know Edmonton’s. Even though I’m from BC, I ain’t supporting that sespool!
Well since we blew a 3 -1 lead it’s hard loving the Canucks these days… I got fstream Yesterday thanks to your twitter post!
Yeah the Canucks have been pretty lifeless lately…it’s funny when they do poorly, the entire city turns on them. Just wait for the boos to come more frequently!
I’ve looked into their presets… THEY GOT SOME PRETTY FUNNY STUFF! Police scanner channels of Baltimore and Chicago and whatnot. hah. I think I’ll get some popcorn going…
I’m going to see if I can find more stations!!
note that in FStream you can record any stream.
FStream seems to work well. I still like WunderRadio for easier browsing of stations by location – you can even find local radio stations by GPS, handy if you’re away from home. overall it seems easier to find something of interest to listen to vs the way presets are organized in FStream. but it’s hard to complain when FStream is free.
p.s. went the the game last night vs the Preds, I could only say “oh no, here we go again…” after the 3-1 lead evaporated 🙁
i seen some cool aplications for iphone on youtube.com and cheezyclips.com
I would say this information might be for people who want to make their ears bleed rather then improve their life. But I suppose not everyone is a Flames fan. You know … the team Vancouver’s looking up at in the standings …
To all Montrealers…..Team 990 address

make sure to enter MP3 as the format and 32 kbs
enjoy!!!!!!!!!
Are there any other settings that you had to play with. It does not work for me.
I cannot download FStream .. says that my account is only valid for purchases in the canadian itunes store .. BUT! I found FStream in the itunes store on my iPhone, so how are they offering it on the canadian iPhone app store BUT not allowing me to purchase it?
okey doke .. nevermind, I figured out that after the iPhone firmware update .. I had to go onto my computer and re-agree to the service agreement to access the App Store again.
I’m going to Jamaica next month and would love to catch the Leafs games but I can’t find a stream link for Fan590 to work in Fstream. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Okay this isnt just great for sports, this is also great for most radio stations! What a little gem this app is.
I now have 680 News running on my iPhone! Use this address:
URL: mms://38.99.208.186/cftr
Format: WMA
Bitrate(kbs): 40
The free app Corus Radio streams the 50+ Canadian Corus Entertainment stations:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=302901619&mt=8
Awesome app! thansk for the heads up!
You, sir, are both a scholar and a gentleman. 8)
And thanks, Mike, for your tip re 680News.
Where can we find more stations?
Yeah, this app is great, it really is, but I haven’t found a station that’s for me yet. Sure these Sports radios will come handy as the trade deadline approaches, but I’d like to know how or where I can get these sites.
… How do I find stations’ URL’s and format settings?
Nevermind, found an awesome site for Canadian Streamed stations> http://www.thestreamcenter.com/canada/
Just open the links and get the address that opens up to your FStream. Worked for me with CBC-Victoria!
If you want to follow a real team, check out Edmonton’s Sports Radio for Edmonton Oiler coverage:

What’s a “real” team and who let’s a 12 year old have their own iPhone?
Choice man! Got it working. Thanks for the heads up on FStream.
Wish I could get Team 990 via the Pocket Tunes app. Until then it's CJAD, CKAC, 98.5, CBC Radio 3, my local news in N.B., plus Sirius XM.
Team 990 is great for Habs fans, but what if it buffers on a PC, and barely available on mobile phones? Adapt or die, I say.
Have you tried WunderRadio? That app can pick up most radio stations within your area and around the world.
Love listening to the radio on my iphone and the corus app is great but i use fstream particularly for sports because u can adjust the time delay to sync with the tv you're watching at the gym. The link to http://www.thestreamcenter.com/canada/ is FANTASTIC!!! you can tune in and hear the local commentators give the appropriately biased color commentary for whichever team you are cheering for,
Cheers
can't get it to connect
Finally found a way to listen to the Team 990 on the iPhone. I bought the TuneIn Radio app for $1.99 and it works great. It gets CJAD as well and is so much easier and faster than the other app I had (already forgot what it was). I basically bought it to listen to Montreal's Team 990 from here in Vancouver but am getting so much more out of it. All CBC streams (including their podcasts and on demand programming), bookmark any station you want, browse by category or even search all stations for a particular show.
Love this app!
I'll also plug the NFB app while I'm here. You can watch all NFB content for free for the iPhone, how crazy is that????

Doesn't work worth a shit.
