ContactFlow: Get iPhone Contacts in CoverFlow!

CoverFlow is an iconic trademarks of Apple’s ingenuity. We have CoverFlow in iTunes, within Finder in OSX, and more. CoverFlow on our iPhone is one of those features that can guarantee you a “wow” response from friends.

A long time ago we detailed AppFlow, and today we’re going to checkout a new app called ContactFlow. This app was released yesterday in Cydia and is essentially CoverFlow for your contacts. I installed it and it’s been pretty slick so far. Check out the following screenshots and video to see it in action:

Here’s an easy way to import photos of your friends from Facebook to the iPhone. Use the free app Photo Phonebook via the App Store. Once that’s complete, ContactFlow will be even more enjoyable to use!

ContactFlow is the brain child of Fafoulon. It is available via Cydia, which means you will need to jailbreak your iPhone.

I guess that’s cool if you only have a handful of contacts, but I can’t see this being anything bug a hinderance with a lot of contacts. I’ve never liked that view in iTunes/iPod, either, for the same reason. If I only have one or two dozen albums to go through, fine. But with well over 700 albums, and ever growing, that view becomes absolutely useless, and nothing but a huge waste of time. As for contacts, I’ve currently got 261 listed in my iPhone, and also ever growing. I can’t imagine scrolling through them one by one with this view while trying to find someone. It would be nothing but a huge waste of time. It already takes long enough jumping to the letter that someone’s last name begins with, nevermind scrolling through each one.

Here’s the truth for anything CoverFlow – it looks cool, ya you can wow your friend, but in real life it’s completely impractical and unusable. For the most part it’s slow – if you have more than 10 contacts, it’s completely useless. Same for AppFlow, or CoverFlow on the Mac.

Everything on this site requires jail breaking. Perhaps we could see something for those without jail broken phones?

Jailbreaking is the way to go! Take ur iPhone to the limit and enjoy it. If it wasn’t for jailbreaking, I myself would never get a iPhone. Its no fun then! lol I would say just check out the App store, you’ll find updated/new released apps which u could have fun with….
Enjoy!
