Apple Releases iTunes 8.2.1 for Download
This afternoon (July 15), Apple released a small update to iTunes. The new version is iTunes 8.2.1 and is available now for download.
The update does not seem to bring any major enhancements and the release notes only state the following:
“iTunes 8.2.1 provides a number of important bug fixes and addresses an issue with verification of Apple devices”
The iTunes 8.2.1 update comes only a day after Apple released the iPhone Firmware 3.1 Beta 2 to developers. This iTunes update could signal a near release for the official iPhone Firmware 3.1.
The update is available on Apple’s website, the Apple Software Update tool, or through System Update (Mac).
Jailbreakers and Unlockers should probably avoid the update to iTunes 8.2.1 until further notice.

Apparently this update takes care of the Palm pre users being able to sync with iTunes .
Looks like Apple went ahead and locked out the Palm Pre from iTunes with this one…
“Verification of Apple Devices” was on the update list.
