You Can Now Jailbreak iOS 16.4.1 with Palera1n 2.0.0 Beta 6
Codenamed Bakepale, the latest v2.0.0 beta 6 update to jailbreak tool Palera1n has just been released, which fully supports iOS 16.4 - iOS 16.4.1 jailbreak.
PwnageTool 3.1.3 Available for Download!
Yesterday we wrote about 3.1 firmware for the iPhone 3GS being jailbroken! Well, in the span of one day the iPhone Dev Team has released PwnageTool 3.1.3 available for download!
This will enable iPhone 3GS users to jailbreak 3.1 firmware–the wait is finally over! The iPhone Dev Team just announced on their blog that they have officially released PwnageTool 3.1.3!
Here are the details:
SUMMARY:
The iPhone 3GS is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the phone was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the 3GS out of the box. If your iPhone 3GS has 3.1 preinstalled and is not Pwned then there is no tested jailbreak solution at the moment.
The iPod 2G is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the iPod 2G was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the iPod 2G with 3.1 software out of the box.
DETAILS:
1. GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a iPhone 3G or iPhone 3G(S) with ultrasn0w and rely on ultrasn0w to obtain cellular service then you should only update your device with an .ipsw that is made with the new PwnageTool. There are no second chances with this. You need to remember that PwnageTool will provide an upgrade path to newer versions of the iPhone software in the future.
2. Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
3. Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.
4. At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the 3.1 capable version of PwnageTool.
5. PwnageTool will work for the iPhone 3GS assuming you have already Pwned it at 3.0 or 3.0.1
6. PwnageTool will work for the iPod touch 2G assuming you have already Pwned it at 3.0 or 3.0.1
7. PwnageTool WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G(S) and the iPod touch (1st Generation and 2nd Generation) but NOT the iPod touch 3rd generation.
8. For 3G and 3G(S) users who are Pwned, PwnageTool is your key to updating in the future, just remember to never install an update directly from Apple, always use an .ipsw that has been created with PwnageTool.

Just to clarify. If I have a vanilla 3gs that has been updated to 3.1 via Itunes, this jailbreak update will not help me right? I still have to wait for a version that can break an untouched 3gs right?
Hi! I'm really confused. I want to have 3.1 Jailbroken on my iphone 3gs. It is running 3.0 jailbroken now. I downloaded the new tool, and when it asks to point to the firmware, the only one that it accepts is 3.0 – not 3.1. So I could do a custom restore with it, but how will that upgrade me to 3.1??
I have the same question. I have unlocked and jailbroken a 3GS on firmware 3.0, but I used redsn0w. Whne I build the new ipsw with the pwnage tool, I get an error after putting my iPhone into DFU mode. Anyone?

I have a 3GS running 3.0.1 (unmodified so far – straight out of the box); can I just run the new pwnage tool to jailbreak it, or is there some other step needed before I run pwnage 3.1.3. I have firmware 04.26.08 and plan to unlock.
We have a lot of 3G/3GS users who are also windows users…..'hope the awesome Dev Team can soon come up with the windows version…..
I'm getting confused, please help. I have the 3GS which came with V3.0 on it I upgraded to V3.01 and jailbroke it, I then made the mistake of upgrading to V3.1. To my knowlage I did not save any setting through cydia unless it saves them automatic. I don't need to unlock the phone just jailbreak it again, I'm using a PC. Will the new pawnage work for me?

finally got around to jailbreaking my phone. It is confusing how you have to download redsn0w, use it on the 3.0 ipsw (not 3.0.1), then go into pwnage. They should really include something to make it all into one step.
Make sure you run ultrasn0w from Cydia to get the cellular service, and use 'fakeid' to get the carrier signal.
