You Can Now Jailbreak iOS 16.4.1 with Palera1n 2.0.0 Beta 6
Codenamed Bakepale, the latest v2.0.0 beta 6 update to jailbreak tool Palera1n has just been released, which fully supports iOS 16.4 - iOS 16.4.1 jailbreak.
blackra1n for Mac Download Now Available!
Last week we finally saw the anticipated release of blackra1n, the all in one jailbreak for all iPhones and iPod Touches. Well, as promised by GeoHot, he has finally made a Mac version of blackra1n and it is now available for download.
If you’re a PC user, you probably read Rory Piper’s tutorial on blackra1n for PC. Anyways, are you on 3.0.1 or 3.0? Do not update directly to 3.1.2 in iTunes or you’ll lose your “unlock”. Use PwnageTool 3.1.4 to safely update to 3.1.2 firmware without updating your baseband.
I will be using PwnageTool 3.1.4 to update my iPhone to 3.1.2 firmware as I want to preserve the unlockable baseband on my iPhone 3GS. However, if you have no need to unlock your iPhone, and just want to jailbreak 3.1.2, blackra1n is your solution.

This jailbreak is so fast on a Mac. From clicking the download link, to opening Cydia, it must have been about 2 to 3 minutes.
Been playing with this a bit tonight. I just posted this over at Green Candy:
“I have now tested this on an iPod Touch 2g and an iPhone 3G. I have found that on my iMac 7,1 it works with no issues. I tried it on my MacBook 5,1 and it just hung at “Entering Recovering Modeâ€, and then balckra1n became non-responsive. Not sure what the issue is, between these 2 Macs. This is just my experience, so far.”

I'm running Windows 7 on my MacBook, and it's pretty slick. You can't get the official beta anymore, but maybe you can think of another way to get it? 😉
on my 3gs blackra1n installed easily enough. Let's me download apps ok. Winterboard isn't working. Categories let's me make categories but doesn't remove the apps from the “desktop” but they do show up in folders.

Nevermind, my winterboard STARTED WORKING. All I did was updated a bunch of packages (packages OTHER than winterboard included) then did a soft restart upon exit of ROCK and it works 🙂
