You Can Now Jailbreak iOS 16.4.1 with Palera1n 2.0.0 Beta 6
Codenamed Bakepale, the latest v2.0.0 beta 6 update to jailbreak tool Palera1n has just been released, which fully supports iOS 16.4 - iOS 16.4.1 jailbreak.
blacksn0w: 05.11.07 Baseband iPhone Unlock Coming Soon
Just a short tidbit for all you iPhone unlockers out there. Earlier this week, revered iPhone hacker, Geohot (maker of the blackra1n jailbreak utility) announced on twitter that he was going to start searching for an exploit for the 05.11.07 baseband (the current iPhone baseband firmware; use PwnageTool 3.1.4 to preserve your baseband!).

Early in the morning, Geohot updated his blog with a post titled “Heap of Trouble”, along with the following screenshot, which had this to say:

I’m always amazed at how incredibly talented these iPhone hackers are, especially Geohot, the one man show. Stay tuned for more info as Geohot continues his quest to unlock the 05.11.07 iPhone baseband.

I've jailbroken my phone and because iTunes unknowingly updated my iPhone (I didn't know about unlocked baseband vs. jailbreaking I thought they were the same) but this is EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as it comes out I'm all over unlocking my iPhone esp. since Bell and Telus will be rolling out the iPhone it gives me the option to potentially say adios to Fido (although I'm still skeptical about Bell & Telus undercutting Fido/Rogers price plans) As I've said in previous posts I strongly believe there is collusion amongst the wireless carriers and with the CRTC ruling against Globalive this just further reinforces my strongly held belief (I do hope I'm proven wrong for mine and countless 1000's of others benefit).
when will the PC version come out for unlocking and jailbreaking. I've been waiting since version 3.0.1
You have a few options to jailbreak and unlock for PC for time being…
Blackra1n (RC2) to jailbreak (PC/MAC)
If your BB is still the lower model 04.X.X, use ultrasn0w to unlock (PC/MAC, actually Cydia)
Shift + restore in iTunes to a CFW 3.X.X (3.1.2 is newest/works fine) and then again your BB will not upgrade and use ultrasn0w to unlock.
go to futureshop with a downloaded copy of the pwnage tool and latest firmware. create a custom firmware, copy it to your usb then go home and restore to 3.12 with unlocked BB.

This doesn't work though if your baseband was upgraded back @ 3.1 though correct?

What is your BB at? If its 05.X.X or higher, NO you cannot do the above and unlock. You can still run a CFW but it will NOT downgrade your BB and NO you are NOT going to be able to unlock.
Wait for Greenpo1son or as Geohot is working on, Blacksn0w. There's just so much happening in the iPhone hacking scene right now.
