Microsoft Store Foolishly Dancing

Here is a great example of why the Microsoft stores are ridiculous.

Not only did Microsoft practically clone Apple Stores down to the name tag lanyards, but check out the video below on how a group of employees attempt to be spontaneous and just start dancing.

I’m all for being spontaneous, but there is a line that should not be crossed. This is a retail store, a place where people come to get information, learn, and make purchases. If I was at my local Apple Store and employees started dancing, I’d be frustrated because that means I now have an X number of employees not helping me.

I also find it amusing how these Microsoft Store employees even have time to dance! Contrast this with Apple Stores which seem to have 150 or more people in the store at any given hour. Even if an Apple Store wanted to do a little dance for 5 minutes, there just would not be the time or space to do so.

The entire display is rather embarassing. Frankly, it’s embarassing to even watch:

1. omg that's where Paula Abdul ended up.
2. it must be the ” ake breaky ” dance, aimed to ward off all evil cause you know it's gonna break once you get it home.
3. if you really must have Windows your options now are; pay to stop the employee dance or pay the extra to run it on a mac.

Is this suppose to inspire people into believing the store will be a “fun place” to hang out? Before viewing the video, I thought the article was a little harsh, but this looks so orchestrated and cheesy, I can't help but agree with X1Zero. Even some of the employees had a “save me from myself” look on their face.

It's a sad state of affairs when your employees outnumber your customers, 2-1

Holy crap, this is ridiculous! If this ever happened, in any store I was shopping at, I would leave immediately. Or maybe I would yell: “GET BACK TO WORK, OR I'M GOING TO THE APPLE STORE!!”.

I wish I could get back one minute of my life. Dude, what is it about
that Black Eyed Peas song that gets white people so excited? When I
went to U2 I saw grannies dancing to this song when BEP opened! 😉

It does look like she just had papers in her hand and then couldn't clap with them, so she shoved them away. Still, funny man if she really was shoplifting! Caught in act haha

I don't have anything against fat people but WTF…..
Everyone is fat except for one token thin guy.
Are they trying to model their staff after the PC Guy or what.
A little transparent really…..

The funniest part is it's clearly not spontaneous at all. I guess they value choreography over product training?

I agree with the author that this is extremley lame and I was also embarrased for them when watching. I feel bad for those of the store's employees that didnt want to go along with it but were either forced or felt obligated to.

I mean come on, who in the hell breaks into a choreographed dance at a freaking retail store? Never mind one that is selling computers and such. This is such a lame attempt at trying to get publicity that its not even funny… just sad.
