iPhone Duo Unboxing Leaks Early, Showing Apple’s Foldable in Hand

iPhone Duo unboxing video showing the unfolded foldable iPhone next to a stack of iPhone boxes

The first iPhone Duo unboxing videos have landed on YouTube, three days before Apple’s foldable officially launches on October 23.

That’s according to YouTube channel Kingmi Mobile, which posted an iPhone Duo unboxing and hands-on video early Tuesday morning, October 20, followed by a second unboxing of a 1TB Night Sky iPhone Duo later that afternoon. An iPhone in Canada reader tipped us off to both clips.

Each video runs about two minutes. The first one is titled “IPhone DUO Unboxing & Hand’s On | Invisible Crease I Never See | World’s First,” so the channel is clearly claiming bragging rights on both the crease and the timing. The second clip shows the phone unfolded in hand, with a stack of iPhone boxes sitting on the table behind it. The videos have some of the worst camera work we’ve seen, but not unexpected as whoever was filming was clearly trying to rush this.

Kingmi Mobile says on its YouTube channel that it’s based in Saudi Arabia, where Apple’s foldable also goes on sale on October 23, the same day as Canada. The iPhone Duo boxes in the videos show what appears to be Chinese text, suggesting these units may have come from China rather than a local store. In the past we’ve seen early iPhone unboxing videos pop up on the web originating out of Vietnam.

Commenters seem just as surprised as we are, with the top comment on the second video simply asking, “First iPhone Duo unboxing video on YouTube?” Meanwhile, the most liked comment on the first one asks the creator to zoom in because “it’s hard to see the phone.”

Why This Unboxing Is Early

Apple opened iPhone Duo pre-orders in Canada on Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. Pacific, with deliveries and in-store availability starting Friday, October 23. That means nobody who ordered through Apple should have one in hand yet.

Launch-day units are scarce here in Canada, since the iPhone Duo sold out for launch-day delivery in Canada the same morning pre-orders opened, with new online orders now pushed to February 2027. Apple has since capped purchases at two per customer, and it called demand “nothing short of extraordinary” as resellers listed units on eBay for thousands over retail.

For reference, the 1TB model in the second video costs $3,899 in Canada before taxes, while the entry 256GB model starts at $2,999. That’s a lot of money to watch someone else peel the plastic off first, but here we are.

Will you be watching unboxing videos this week, or waiting until your own iPhone Duo shows up? TechRax is going to have a field day with the iPhone Duo, just wait for it…
