iOS 4 To Support Facebook Video Uploads

iOS 4 is going to be released by Apple on June 21st. This latest firmware update will include a multitude of new features. Some of the most anticipated include multitasking, folders, improvements to Mail, and more. What’s interesting to note is that iPod Touch users will get iOS 4 for free (2nd and 3rd gen models) but multitasking will be limited to the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

Facebook Video Uploads Coming to iOS 4

Every time Apple seeds a new version of its iOS, people tend of analyze deep within the code to try and seek out little ‘golden nuggets’. The latest find includes a line that indicates Facebook video uploads are soon coming our way to iOS 4.

Facebook recently made a switch to support HTML5 video. The option to upload videos to straight from your iPhone will bring Facebook stalking to a whole new level. Don’t you agree?

I hope you are trying to be clever, if not:
It's Nth Degree, not Ninth.

You can already upload videos to Facebook via the Facebook app. Is this talking about doing it via Safari?

I just wish apple would make Facebook built in to the OS. the people who manage the Facebook app now have seemed to have given up on updating it. I know the original guy already quit it, and passed it on to another person. This new guy added push, and never touched it again.

You must be mad to even ask that Facebook built in. LOL. Facebook is a third party it will never be included and thank god. I wish it would shutdown.

YouTube is “a third party” yet it is natively included in the OS 😛

u can only upload pics, you also cannot natively watch videos on the current facebook app….i think the original poster meant facebook upload via the pull up menu within camera roll (i guess in addition to youtube, etc.)

lol wouldn't it be funny if Apple is trying to slowly cut out YouTube due to Google being the owner 😛

But it is not managed by Apple. Its a google thing. It was just a default app thats all. Making Facebook a default app is not going to change the updates on it. And just going to show you if Facebook cared about its app it would take it over but it hasn't. Apple is not going to work on it.

Apple partially did manage the youtube app, clearly there are no youtube updates or even the official youtube app avail for download in the app store…that tells you something. same went for not being able to login to the youtube app on hacktivated phones back in the day….remember that?….if it was solely managed by google then having a hacktivated phone would/should have zero impact on successful login to YouTube….regardless im sure th original poster meant built-in facebook integration in the OS itself (i.e. direct upload from camera roll)…in addition to the email, share, youtube.

Lol ok well maybe not built in, but have apple get their hands in it
like they did with twitter.
We (people who use it) need a better developer to manage the facebook app

Apple manages the twitter app? Thats something new to me. Shouldn't you be asking Facebook themselves to manage the Facebook app?

Yes. It was on iphoneincanada news about a month or so ago. I think it
was twitterific or somthing. I might have the wrong name. But I know
they have their hand in one

Isn't that line of code just so the facebook app can post the video from the camera roll when you have the facebook app running? That works fine.

I think you mean when Tweetie became the official Twitter for iPhone App. Apple had nothing to do with it, an independent developer got hired on/bought out by Twitter to make their 'official' App.

I heard a different story. But I'm not going to split hairs here.

I have read that there have been over 100 improvements with OS4 – to date I have only actually seen about a dozen or so. Does anyone know if there is an actual list that has perhaps come out of last week's conference explaining all the improvements or do we have to wait until we upgrade (3GS) next week?

Well, Apple never actually releases a list. It's kind of a marketing scheme, they say over 100 new features, no one even knows about 85 of them because Apple only promotes the other 15 “tentpole” features. That may be what they want too, the other 85 features could just be bug fixes/minor tweaks.
