Jobs Jokes About ‘Bandaids for iPhone 4’, then…
Yes, this is sourced from Engadget. Yes, Blogs are beating a dead horse on the ‘Antenna Issue’. But honestly, this is too funny not to post.
During the iPhone 4 Press conference Steve Jobs joked about needing a band-aid to cover the ‘problem corner’ of the iPhone 4, and what do you know, someone goes and makes it. Of course.
I, for one, am pleased to know that it ‘Works Like Magical’, and that the colours are visible by the Human Retina, that’s a relief. 🙂

They’re actually kinda cute, don’t you think?

ha ha ha ha…..
haha I'm actually buying a pack just for the hell of it when I get the iPhone4. Awesome.
Funny thing is, I'd prefer this, over the “Bumper”.
Honestly – Me Too! I really do think they're cute – and doesn't cover up the rest of the outer edge, which I actually think looks great.
However, I'll probably get my iPhone 4 first, to check if I 'need' one. 😉
haha me too actually..
lmao! im getting the silver pack…much prefer this over bumper case 😛
Haha screw the silver pack, I'm getting old school peachy-beige colored bandaids…
Show everyone that my lil baby's bruised.
lmao….don't forget the polysporin 😀
🙁 wouldn't that void my warranty?!
honestly I'd rather the phone just work rather than have to show “my baby is bruised” I can't believe you are all so naive about apple knowingly selling a broken phone.
Oh trust me, I'm not naive about it..I'm very aware of its problems and shortcomings.
Let me ask you this…will you be buying it?
Chantalle- GREAT post…I'll just take the black and white….anyone else want the other colours?
I do not understand how anyone could find this funny. Way to banalize the decade's technological blunder. Have you all lost any critical thinking ?

y r u even on this blog if u hate apple & dont plan on getting an iphone!
i doubt any1 is willing to spend 700 bux & not do their research 1st…we all know..& were al buying the bandaid :D… am getting the blur…i used 2 allways like blue bandaids as a baby
I'd love to buy it. I've been fortunate to have all three iphones in Canada, the last two on launch days. unfortunately, I don't think that admitting there's a problem and then offering a band aid solution is a good enough answer from a company that prides itself on it's innovation and and premium products. I've been getting a bad taste in my mouth from their macs as well, which I've had brutal battery problems from. Their solution? to pay a price for something that should work longer than a year? I don't think so. I've had an Hp laptop for three years now and I still get up too three hours of battery life out of it. my macbook and macbook pro both wouldn't hold a 30 minute charge after only one year. I love apple and their products but if this is their attitude that half assed products are what they are going to make AND charge a premium price, I can/will make do with competitors.
I'm glad you wrote a proper response..wasn't actually expecting such a lengthy, thought-out reply.
With that said, I completely understand your feeling of disappointment towards Apple's attitude, and I'll be the first one to admit that since the early 2000's, they've concentrated more on brand recognition, rather than their customer's needs' fulfillment.
I've always thought that their computers, actually, most of their products for that matter, are overpriced, for what they do. But hey, it's an Apple.
You said you had the first 3 iPhones? I'm on my 2nd. I joined the movement with the 3G, currently using a 3GS…and guess what? They were both lacking very basic, general features that should've been available from the get go.
I won't lie, the added memory and slightly better camera and whatnot would not have been enough to justify the purchase of any other electronic device…but I wanted the 3GS. Why? Because the iPhone gives me everything I need, the way i want it and the way i like it…more than any other cell/smartphone out there. So i figured, I could sell my 3G unlocked, get practically the same amount in return as the 3GS would cost me, and have a more 'powerful' device.
Which brings us to the iPhone 4…
Same arguments. Will the bad antenna f*ck up the experience for me? I don't know…we'll see.
What I do know though, is that the iphone's antennas have never been the most reliable, and the reception has always been mediocre.
Sure, it's a cell phone…but it's also everything else.
As long as I can still make calls, I'm satisfied…plus it'll practically cost me nothing once I resell the 3GS.
yeah dude wait to be a major douche!
WHERE? Chantelle, where are they selling these???? CVS?? hehe
LOL Sorry!!! http://antenn-aid.com/ 😀
brilliant!!!! Can you say business-savvy?
This is not surprising behaviour for a company that puts form above function time and again. Remember the puck mouse?
Anyway, I'm probably going to use real band-aids and do this: http://www.herdofcats.ca/node/4931
Partly for function, partly for humour, and partly to be a walking reminder of this embarrassing fiasco, lest Apple thinks it's all better now.
so you wanna tell me that you're going to use your iPhone without any protection ???
That is equal to have a PMS without pampers …… lmfao….
There are more than a few sites popping up offering vinyl covering for the iphone to combat the “death touch” issue. One that interested me was http://awrapforthat.com/ ; it’s similar to the band-aid but comes with choice of clear as well if you want to keep the illusion that nothing is on the phone.
