Yahoo! Messenger iPhone App 2.0 Allows Video Calls to Computers
Looks like the much anticipated Yahoo! Messenger 2.0 iPhone app has been released in the App Store. This latest update now allows for video calls from your iPhone to your Yahoo! Messenger friends on their computers. It will also allow for video calling over 3G, like the free Tango app.

I don’t use Yahoo! Messenger at all, but for those that do this new capability to make video calls to contacts is pretty neat. You can expect for Apple to integrate FaceTime to work with iChat on OS X, it’s only a matter of time.

Yep… no one i know uses Yahoo messenger.. Well, this might change that a bit.
Has anyone actually been able to get the video calling to work? The option to initiate any video seems to be greyed out if you try.
Has anyone tested this? The voice chat is fine but video is not working.
Looks like it is working for some but not everyone. Give it a few days as the bugs are worked out and it is fully functional worldwide.
Now all I need is Windows Live Messenger and Apple own iChat to support FaceTime Video Calling and I’m all set to chat with everyone of my friends on the go!

Unrelated… but it looks like there’s finally a ‘Mark all emails as read’ app on Cydia.. it’s $1.99 and I can’t make the purchase thing work – it freezes on Amazon payments and the Paypal link goes to a ‘page not found’… but I’m sure they’ll get that worked out. It’s called ‘Mark Read’… I’ve been waiting for either Cydia or Apple to release this for ages. It’s crazy that it’s not part of the OS
Yeah nobody on my contact list uses Y! Messenger. I downloaded it to check out the quality as compared to FaceTime and I can’t find anyone to video chat with!

I have an iPhone 4. The video service initially worked on the device. It now does not work. I cannot share my cam. I cannot view the cams of others, no matter whether they are coming from desktops or iPhones. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, and checked all relevant configurations. It’s dead in the water. Have you turned off this service to everyone?
