[Updated] PwnageTool iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Tool Updated to 4.1.1

Update 1: Looks like the Dev Team just released 4.1.2. Click here to download.

The other day we were one of the first to report that the iPhone Dev Team had released PwnageTool 4.1 to jailbreak iOS devices on 4.1 firmware. They previously mentioned PwnageTool would be released on Sunday, but it was announced on Wednesday to coincide with Apple’s Back to Mac event.

The Dev Team has now released PwnageTool 4.1.1, an update that will fix the following issue:

[Update: Version 4.1.1 should fix any issues that OS X 10.5.x users were seeing.  You only need to run this version if you’re at OS X 10.5.x and were seeing Cydia errors]

So if you were having issues with PwnageTool, download the latest version as that should fix the error mentioned above.

Everything is removed if you upgrade to 4.1.
Cydia remembers your paypal or facebook login and knows what programs you own a license for and lets you download them again for free.

When I saw 4.1.1 I thought that Apple released an iOS update and PwnageTool was updated already!

This might be a a silly reply….but………ever heard of Google or Bing or Yahoo or Ask.com or……ad nauseam. Does mommy and daddy also do your laundry, cook for you, pay your bills, provide free room and board…..etcetera? I’m surprised you were able to muster up the strength to ask the question to begin with instead of letting someone else do that for you too!

you don’t have to be a jerk about it, a simple yes or no to his question would have sufficed.

I had installed limera1n last week and everything seemed to wrok fine. A few apps like 6 item dock weren’t supported but that could have been about iOS issues.. I’ve avoided Pwnage for several releases because it was unable to put my iPhone into DFU mode and the custom ipsw files weren’t recognized by iTunes.
But I gave Pwnage 4.1.2 a try and everything worked out just fine. I have noticed that Cydia loads much faster than under limera1n and when looking for “changes” within Cydia, they also load much quicker.
Pkgbackup worked great and so did SBorganizer. I just had to reassign icons to my Categories folders.

I used TinyUmbrella to preseve my baseband to 1.59, and updated to iOS 4.1. I then used Greenpoison to jailbreak my phone.

I then used Ultrasnow via Cydia to unlock my phone (done today). No issues so far. Just need to use someone else’s SIM card (other than Rogers) to fully confirm that unlock works.

I wouldn’t upgrade to 4.1, at least not using Pwnage Tools. I’ve never had a problem before, but I’ve heard a lot of people are having problems. I upgraded myself and my phone was behaving erratically. Settings would freeze up and I couldn’t connect to Rogers (I got one bar but no carrier name and it wouldn’t connect). I tried resetting network settings, removing and adding the sim card, a ton of things.

It was a major waste of yesterday and today! I’m totally frustrated, so save yourself the trouble and don’t bother, at least until the bugs have been worked out.

use SnowBreeze 2.02. Worked like a charm for me and preserved my baseband (iPhone 3GS)

so, if i have an iphone4 with 4.0.2, i have to first use tinyumbrella to do something, and update iphone to 4.1, and then jailbreak? It seems this is just so basic for a lot of you but I don’t. any help is appreciated.
