We Remember iPhone App by Veteran Affairs Canada

Remembrance day is on November 11th, and is a time when every Canadian should take a moment to reflect at the 11th hour to honour our troops both past and present. With November just around the corner, Veteran Affairs Canada has released their Remembrance iPhone app called We Remember. This app will encourage ongoing support for Veterans’ Week, which takes place November 5-11.

Designed by MindSea Development, out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, this app will help you remember in a variety of ways. Using your location the app will find a ceremony near you, you can write on the Veteran Affairs Canada Facebook wall, and more. Each ceremony includes a brief description, map directions, contact info, and the ability to share on twitter, Facebook, and via email.

Other goodies include a link to the Veteran Affairs Canada website, the ability to share the app, Remembrance Day Wallpapers, the poem In Flanders Fields (which a lot of us had to memorize in school), and a toggle switch to “Remind me on Remembrance Day”. Kudos to the team at MindSea Development for this well thought out and polished app.

Here’s the iTunes description:

How will you remember? The Remembrance iPhone App, We Remember, lets you find events and ceremonies across Canada, watch video from the Veterans Affairs Canada YouTube channel, read the Veterans Affairs Canada Facebook wall, and more.

Make remembrance more than something you feel. Make it something you do.
