iPhone Tops J.D. Power and Associates Customer Satisfaction Survey

In terms of customer satisfaction, Apple has again ranked first in the J.D. Power and Associates Customer Satisfaction survey:

In order of importance…For smartphones, the key factors are: ease of operation (26%); operating system (24%); physical design (23%); features (19%); and battery function (8%).

For a fifth consecutive time, Apple ranks highest among manufacturers of smartphones in customer satisfaction with a score of 795 and performs particularly well in ease of operation, operating system, features and physical design. Motorola (763) and HTC (762) follow Apple in the smartphone rankings.

I’ve been satisfied since the first day I laid hands on my first generation iPhone.

On the home front, Research in Motion ranked last–below the industry average. I wonder why.

Are you satisfied with your iPhone?

I still have issues with QuickTime attachments not opening on my iPhone 4 Phoned Apple and they had no answer to this. It’s gone from a minor inconvenience to frustrating as hell. Does anyone have a helpful solution?

Assuming you have RemoteTap and Air Video (or similar apps) and you leave your desktop running…
1) Control your desktop with RemoteTap to open your email and download the QT movie, then
2) Use Air Video to view said movie.
Probably not the ideal solution, but it is *a* solution..

Okay, as much as I love my Apple products and my iPhone in particular, I feel I have to point out the problem with this survey. If you look at the results, the highest score is, rightfully so, Apple at 795/1000 or 79.5%. The lowest score is RIM at 732/1000 or 73.2%. The gap between the best and the worst on this survey is only 6.3%, which, though certainly telling and reflective of the undeniable superiority of Apple products compared to RIM products, isn’t a huge gap.

Again, don’t start hating on this, I love my iPhone and I’m not trying to diminish Apple’s awesomeness in any way, I just think it’s important to look at the survey for all that it is.

Also, I’m not in any way a statistician, so it’s entirely possible I’ve misread something or messed something up. If this is the case, let me know and I will be happy to publish a massive comment retracting all the voodoo nonsense I’ve been spouting here.

Your absolutely right good call! I love my iPhone too but i hate apple fan boys over glorifying and thus tarnishing apples image. Take the device for what it is and I agree with u

news are always based on numbers that doesn’t mean anything
the only that matters is if you are satisfied in the end
who give a crap about those numbers
