Valve Looking Into Steam For iOS?
Reports this afternoon point to Valve considering the possibility of bringing its Steam game online distribution system to iOS.
A member of the Steam forums was reportedly told this information while speaking with co-founder Gabe Newell at Valve HQ in Bellevue, Washington.
At this time, Steam is available for Windows and Mac, but their Mac penetration is not nearly as strong as on Windows considering the system was just launched on OS X within the last year.
It is anyone’s guess to what exactly Valve plans to do with Steam and iOS, but it’s probably safe to say that the purchasing and downloading of games through Steam won’t be happening considering the App Store’s tight restrictions. Moreover, Steam could definitely be seen as a Game Center and OpenFeint competitor.
If successfully launched however, Steam would be a huge success on iOS and across iOS devices.

How can you claim that it will be a huge success if you dont have a clue what Valve would offer on the iOS via steam. I would love to see a dedicated (non port) version of CS Source….but lets get real lol
No, it would never happen.
Steam has a lot of community groups/pages and Steam instant messaging. An app that can access the Steam messanger and Friends network would be cool.
