BMO Mobile Banking iPhone App Now Available for Download
We were first to report on BMO launching a mobile version of their website, plus plans for an iPhone app. The BMO Mobile Banking app is now live in the App Store.
Here’s the description:
With BMO’s mobile banking app you can bank anywhere, anytime – safely and easily on your iPhone.
ACCESS:
To use BMO Mobile Banking, you must be registered for BMO Online Banking. Simply sign in to Mobile Banking exactly as you would sign in to Online Banking. If you are not registered for Online Banking, go to www.BMO.com/onlinebanking to register today.BMO MOBILE BANKING FEATURES:
Check balances, transaction history, and search transactions
Transfer funds
Find BMO branches and ABMs
Languages: English / French
Unlike other official banking apps from CIBC, TD, RBC, and Scotiabank, the BMO app does not let you pay bills, which is extremely disappointing. Let’s hope a future update adds this crucial feature. You can however transfer funds and easily find BMO locations and ATMs. An alternative would to use the Mint.com iPhone app to keep track of your funds.
What other banks are we waiting for to join the App Store party?

I hope president’s choice financial banking have an app
Absolutely sucks. You can’t pay bills? Come on now man, we talkin’ ’bout practice!
Wow closing in on a year or more for most of the other banks and then an incomplete app… BMO=Blackberry.
Unfortunately it’s not a real native app. It’s an html front-end wrapped in an app, just like Fido’s My Account app. This gives them great flexibility in fixing bugs, adding new features, or removing features without relying on the user updating the app. But the drawback is poor user experience because going back and forth between every screen takes a second, it’s slow…
When I tried the “find nearest branch” feature, I got the GPS permission prompt for the app, then it asked the permission for https://m1.bmo.com. That proved that it’s a web app wrapped in a native app. So you might as well use safari, it’s the same thing.
How can we take a bank seriously when they are this technolgically impotent. Two stars for not having to go through the browser to find my acound balance.
Total fail!!! BMO e-commerce and digital strategy head (Pritesh) fails here. Long wait for an app that does nothing special.
This app is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.
Lets face it most times when we go on line it’s to pay bills. Come on BMO upgrade this app ASAP and add the pay bill feature.
can’t pay bill + can’t send email money transfers = fail
I like BMO but they’re seriously lagging behind every other bank in regards to mobile banking apps. Bill payment is one of the most important features in my opinion.
