MTS To Launch New Unlimited Data & Tethering Plan With iPhone 4?

According to MacRumors forum user SilvorX, with the launch of the iPhone 4 on MTS on April 26, 2011, MTS is set to reveal a new unlimited data and tethering plan for iPhone 4 customers.

Unlimited Plus Plan – $74.99/month

  • Minutes: 350 Daytime Minutes, Unlimited calling between MTS Mobile to Mobile users within Manitoba
  • Evenings/Weekends: Unlimited @ 6PM
  • Data: Unlimited Data with Unlimited Tethering
  • Features: Unlimited text/picture/video messaging

The plan also reportedly costs $69.99/month, instead of $74.99, when bundled with other MTS services.

The MTS iPhone plan is likely to be available on a 3-year contract and provide promotional pricing of $159/$269 for the 16/32 GB iPhone 4.

What I wouldn’t give for a Rogers Unlimited plan like this. Unlimited data, a thing of dreams here in Canada.

If an Ontario provider would offer unlimited I would jump ship from my current provider in a heart beat.

Hmm, if real I’ll ask Rogers if they’ll match this or they’ll lose a customer. Go go being Manitoban.

Technically Mobilicity does, but you gotta be in the GTA or another area that provides their service…

I spoke with MTS for an hour today, April 21. They will have two unltd plans, on for $55; 300 daytime, unltd data, BUT once u use 10 gigs, they throttle down ur bandwidth till the end of the month each day from 4pm – midnight. Also on the $55 plan u can tether up to 250 mb max (without payment).

The throttling applies to the $75 plan as well. Cheers.

4, and actually gave it away with contract. Free me from contract. Worth it to me. She paid for the $20 transfer of contract.

Because they’re sharing the physical towers, not the billing systems or customer base. I’m sure Rogers COULD offer it, but not because they’re sharing HSPA towers with MTS. What one company does won’t affect the other.

This plan is NOT for those wishing to tether to pc’s or laptops. Don’t be fooled with the word ‘unlimited’ tethering. I’m dumping my unlimited plan with mts and proceding to the C.R.T.C.with deceptive marketing practices by this company. If you think you should pay this much money for 10gigs on an unlimited plan, then go ahead if you wish to donate to a company who’s loyalty is in profit, not to its customers.
