White iPhone 4 is 0.2mm Thicker Than Black Version

The white iPhone 4 officially hit Apple.ca early this morning. Yesterday we heard from Apple executives explaining why the white iPhone 4 was delayed. With the release of the white iPhone 4, it appears this model is 0.2 millimetres thicker than the black version.

A MacRumors forum member noticed his phone wasn’t fitting properly into his existing iPhone 4 case:

Just picked up the white iPhone 4 and realized it doesn’t fit into my Incase slider case. It appears that Apple has increased the size of the plastic that borders the glass on both sides by about 1mm.

Further confirmation of a thicker build comes from @reneritchie who nabbed a white iPhone 4 this morning. He compares the thicker build to a black iPhone 4 with an invisibleSHIELD on trying to fit inside a case. It’ll fit, but it’s going to be pretty snug. It is apparent the extra ‘bulk’ comes from the white plastic, not the aluminum.

How’s your white iPhone 4? Notice it being thicker than usual?
