Official Blogger iPhone App Now Available in the App Store

Google’s Blogger now has an official iOS app, as announced on the Google Mobile Blog. The popular platform now brings a native app for iPhone and iPod touch users (no iPad version yet):

Today we’re excited to announce the new Blogger app for iOS. With the Blogger app, you can write a new blog post and publish it immediately or save it as a draft right from your iOS device. You can also open a blog post you’ve been working on from your computer and continue editing it while you’re on-the-go. Your blog posts are automatically synced across devices, so you’ll always have access to the latest version.

Here’s the iTunes description:

With Blogger app for iPhone and iPod touch, you can easily publish posts with pictures, labels and location information. Also, you can view the list of posts and if you have multiple accounts or blogs, you can easily switch between them.

Blogger app will allow you to:
* Select account/blog if you have more than 1.
* Include pictures from the gallery or by taking a picture directly from the app
* Add labels
* Add location information
* Save as draft or immediately publish
* View list of saved/published posts

The Blogger iPhone app requires iOS 3.2 and above. If you use the Blogger platform, you’re going to love using a native app. For fans of Wordpress, their Wordpress for iOS app has been available for quite some time now.

Click here to download from iTunes, it’s free.

I’ve played with it a tiny bit since it came out today. So far … meh. It’s a V 1.0, so I can understand that it’s not  all bells and whistles, but it’s so far behind the unofficial paid BlogPress app, it’s not funny. Hopefully it will improve quickly.

Then don’t delete it after installing Blogger. You’ll still want to use it.

Shame BlogPress has been totally broken since iOS 5 came out. Six weeks and counting.

I saw your blog post about it. So far I’ve been using the Wordpress app instead.
