Get Siri to Tell Time in Canada By Saying ‘Good Morning’ in the Afternoon

Siri in Canada lacks location, map services, and restaurant queries, but there still are workarounds to get her to help you tell the time here. If you ask her what the time is, she will say:

“Sorry, I don’t know what time it is in _______ .”

You can bypass this by asking:

“What time is it in Vancouver?”

Tell Siri ‘Good Morning’ in the Afternoon and Vice Versa

An easier and faster workaround has been submitted by iPhoneinCanada.ca reader James. To get Siri to quickly tell the time, just say ‘Good morning’ in the afternoon, and vice versa.

She’ll quickly correct you, and tell you the current  time (note I asked her at 1:28PM in the afternoon):

Siri is expected to get further language and location support in early 2012. To get a further understanding of what ‘surprises’ Siri holds, visit tumblr page Sh1t Siri Says.

Hey check this. I asked Siri what time it is in Vancouver (I’m in MOntreal) and it showed me the time. I then asked Siri “I want a beer” and it showed me a list of bars in vancouver. Is this a glitch?

No.  It does it’s searches based on the previous query if you don’t specify a location or don’t have location services activated.

Or you could just simply disable the location service for Siri, ask “What time is it?”, and she’ll tell you right away. But this not very practical if you want to know the weather without specifying the location in the request. LOL either way, we really need to wait for Apple to support more countries.

Unless you’re blind, why ask Siri for the time when the clock is clearly visible?  LOL

Because that someone was either running, driving, or cycling, and finds it easier to ask a question than fumble with headphones and a belt clip.

Speaking into earbuds while on the go is one reason. Especially if the iPhone is buried in the inside pocket of your coat in the middle of winter.

Looks like you don’t have your address set up properly. When I ask Siri the time it works perfectly.

Our test was when Siri wasn’t updated with Canadian support yet, unlike today.
