I have it on my iPhone 3g and its way faster than ever. Its really iOS 3.1.3 but modified to look like ios5. Make sure you reboot your phone at least 2 times after install and you should see a major difference. I love it so far
My girlfriend had a 3G iPhone which she updated to the most recent software supported and it was so slow it was almost unusable. I would recommend to stay on a low firmware.

The speed? Faster than iOS 3 or 4, that’s for sure.
