Time Waster of the Month – Age of Curling [Video Review]

One of my favourite sports is curling. While I’m not very good at it, pretty much because I have such terrible balance on the ice, I love watching it – especially the Canadian men’s championship, the Brier, which is on right now.

So I’ve spent a while playing all the curling games I can get my hands on. But no matter how many I try – and I’ve tried them all – I always come back to Age of Curling.

It’s the most realistic and fun to play. There are other games that try to jazz up curling and add cartoony graphics, but not Age of Curling.

It’s a no bells and whistles app that delivers a nearly true curling experience.

It’s simple enough to play, and if you’re just learning it offers a game guide to help you out. Using your finger to set the amount of curl, direction of the shot, power, and sweeping is very natural on the iPhone. And because you use your finger to sweep, it adds a little more realism to the curling experience.

Here’s my full video review of Age of Curling.

This game offers a lot of replay value with its different rinks and modes of play. While I wish the AI opponent was a little more difficult to play against, I still find the game challenging enough to keep coming back.

If you’re a fan of curling you’ll love this game and it’s well worth the $3.99 price tag.

Let me know what you think of the game.
