Same problem here. Is it because the Cydia server is overloaded, or is it a problem with my iPad/jailbreakage?
It finally works now. I don’t know what went wrong or how exactly I fixed it, but here’s what I did: 1. Absinthe 2.0.1 Linux. JB seemed to work at first, but Cydia kept crashing. 2. Restore with iTunes 3. Retry with Absinthe 2.0.2 Windows. JB works and Cydia works.
To be clear, ‘restore’ meant to restore to factory settings. I have an iPad 3 WiFi, and firmware version is 9B206.
In anyone’s opinion, is it worth it for me to upgrade to 5.1.1 and rejailbreak?
is there any large fixes that Id take advantage of? or am I as good to just stay at 5.0.1?

Ok, I did the jailbreak and I lost my camera roll. No big deal. The only reason I did the jailbreak was to get that old feature with all the toggles for settings. I think it was called SBSettings or something like that. Can someone refresh my memory about that one, please?
Yeah, that was SBSettings, or you can use NCSettings
It won’t find the package to install it. I’ll look for NCSettings instead. Thanks. That was the only reason I even bothered with the jailbreak.
So jailbreaking my phone was easy but it really served no purpose for me. SBSettings won’t load, can’t even find the package and that was the only tweak I really wanted. The rest of the functions I used to jailbreak my iPhone for have been added to the latest version of iOS so I really didn’t need to do this. It was a fun geeky exercise but otherwise was a total waste of time. And I lost my Camera Roll. Ya, don’t see what all the fuss was about.

Restore from your last backup in iTunes. Screw this stupid jailbreak.

Iwipecache can fix this just download from cydia and try it out…it work for me when icons are white…
After installing a theme and winterboard My camera crashes every time i try to take a pic and says i have no pictures and i know i still do since my original picture is still there. wallpaper setttings crashes when i click on that also… uninstalled winterboard and themes and still doesnt work.
Absinthe 2.0 didn’t work for me but this afternoon I tried 2.0.1 and worked first time. I backed up first but chose not to erase everything first. Worked like a charm. Cydia is a little busy right now so it’s taking a little longer to update the packages. I’ll try that later tonight.

Was able to jailbreak rather quickly and painlessly. Yes Cydia is being hammered at the moment but be patient it will work. I always wait a half day or so before jailbreaking as the Devs usually release updates of the jailbreak (I used 2.01 no problems everything works)
I tip my hat to the Dream Team once again.

Not working for iphone 4 with win 7 64bit. progress bar goes to approximately 5% then after waiting 10 minutes windows tells absinth has crashed / does not respond and will be closed!
I have the same proplem on Win7 64, also if running as Admin and WinXP SP3 compatible mode.

hey guys couple of questions (forgive me I’m a noob to jail breaking). I’ve jailbroken my iPhone 4 GSM and it went great, no apparent issues at all. However, Cydia appears to continue to give me errors when trying to load up on opening the app, and adding any sources seems to give an error as well. Just wondering (as i’ve read previous comments) if this is a known issue due to the bogged down Cydia servers or if I need to fix it – and how. Second, iMessage doesn’t work so I’m wondering if anyone can help with getting it to work OR if it won’t work with the 5.1.1 jailbreak yet.

For Cydia, it’s likely just dealing with heavy traffic.
For iMessage, ensure that it’s on first under Settings > Messages. If yes, test the use of iMessage under 3G and WiFi to see if there’s any change.
Absinthe 2.0.1(Win XP) will run for 5 to 10 minutes up to “Sending initial jailbreak data..” and then I constantly get this error whenever I retry, “Absinthe iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience.” This has never happened with my past jailbreaks and I don’t know how to fix it.. I tried restoring but I didn’t want to set up a new iDevice because I don’t want to lose my old iPhone 4S’s data.. I also tried running it as an Administrator..
Follow the instructions given by the team. Do a back up, then WIPE your phone from the settings menu. Perform the jailbreak. Restore your settings and content through iTunes.
On Absinthe 2.0.1, After installing CyDelete and Icon Rename tweak, springboard crashes, however it was fine with absinthe 2.0 jailbreak

i hav 4s and i tried to jailbreak with 5.1.1 through absinthe 2.0.4 and when i connect my device, it says error detecting device (locdown error -2)….. any solution for this?
My iPad 1 was jail broken today. I was looking on YouTube for cool apps, and I got them, and then my battery went out. So I charged it but when I rebooted, all of the apps where small and I couldn’t access settings to disable anything or cydia to delete the apps. My pass code and keyboard are really small. How do I fix this? I don’t have sbsettings and I don’t have anyway of getting into cydia. PLEASE HELP OR ELSE I AM SCREWED!
