Apple Releases Update for New MacBook Air and Pro

At Apple’s WWDC 2012 keynote, all new MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros were released. After customers got these new notebooks in their hands, it became apparent that the battery was not lasting as long as it should, with a brand new Mac. Apple acknowledged the issue, and promised a fix was coming.

Today, Apple has released an update for these newer notebooks, to resolve the CPU power consumption issue, as well as a compatibility issue with some USB devices.

If you have one of these new MacBook Airs or MacBook Pros, click HERE to download the update now. One warning though: this update is not supported by OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, so if you happen to be running a developers preview of the latest, not yet released operating system, you’ll have to wait until the official release, and an update to this update. 😛

I’ve been thinking about buying a macbook air, and have been doing a lot of reading about them. Odd that no one has mentioned this battery life issue…

I bought the latest Air, I have had no issues with battery. But only time will tell to see if this update makes a difference.
