DataMan App-Store Price Drops To Free Over The Next Day [HURRY]

We here at iPhoneinCanada are huge DataMan fans if you don’t already know. We reviewed the application during the fall season of 2010 and very much enjoyed it. It’s an application that allows users to track the data used over the cellular and Wi-Fi network. You can set daily usage limits and even ask to be sent alerts when you near your monthly data allowance.

Overall, if you are on a limited data package such as 200 MB, or below 1 GB for that matter, a tracking application of this sort is excellent. Watching a video over the cellular network can kill a data-package very quickly, and DataMan will help ensure that won’t happen.

If you want to grab DataMan, the developers have dropped the price of the application from $0.99 to free for the next 41 hours. The promotion began at 5:00 PM and will end at 10:00 AM on Thursday. It’s free, so it doesn’t really hurt to try it out. Here are some notable features:

  • Track your monthly data usage, including cellular (4G/3G) and Wi-Fi
  • Automatic usage counter reset at end of your billing cycle
  • Four levels of usage threshold alerts
  • Work with all carriers, no login required
  • Monthly history
  • Easy setup

Hmm, that’s weird. We aren’t using any special linking from what I know.

Maybe the app you found by search was not the same app.

I would prefer that this was a feature within settings. With the new iPhone 5 and LTE, I feel like I’m going to burn through my 6GB data plan pretty quickly (I already average 4.5GB per cycle).

I’m jealous of ICS/Jelly Beans Data Monitor that can halt all data and of course provide warnings. They text alerts from Telus usually arrive a day late so they are not that helpful.

This app works, but lacks the build quality and icon quality of built-in Apple services. It’s also REALLY basic, and if it wasn’t free, I would not have tried it.

I’m curious to hear the thoughts of others?

If you are pay as you go, the billing starts over every 30 days. DataUsage has this option since their last update. Can’t use it until thos option is available.

I grabbed the app. I like that it will notify when you reach fifty percent of your allotted data. I’ll give it a try and see if it works better than my carrier notifications.

Thanks for the heads up, just grabbed the app. I may find it useful since Bell doesn’t offer text alerts, and I’ve only got 500 MB… only gone over that limit once in two years though.
