Starbucks Passbook Update Coming at the End of September

Starbucks tweeted over an hour ago their update for Passbook support will be coming at the end of the month. Apple first showed off Starbucks as one of the partners for Passbook at WWDC this June, but we haven’t seen it officially supported yet in iOS 6.

Developers are quickly updating their apps for Passbook. Earlier we showed you how it works in Canada by demonstrating the Cineplex Mobile app on it.

Who’s excited for Starbucks integration with Passbook? Coffee lovers, rejoice!

There existing app works pretty good now. Not sure how passbook improves things. Am I missing something.

Passbook integration means it will detect you are at starbucks and just ‘pop’ up as a notification, one step easier.

I use the existing one right as well and liked it. But does it mean each time I drive in front of a SB, my phone will pop out the notification 🙂 ?

We’ll find out how well the implementation is soon enough.

They’re moving away from postcards for the three drinks; if think collecting free drink rewards inside the passbook would be pretty handy.
