Leaked 13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro Images Reveal Side Ports Layout [PICS]

MacRumors points to some new images of the upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, set to be announced at next week’s October 23rd iPad mini event.

A WeiPhone.com forum user claims to have access to the new 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro and has updated his original post leaking images of the display with some clear pictures of what appear to be the left and right sides of the laptop, confirming his earlier claims of what ports would be included. According to MacRumors he has posted reliable images in the past.

The left side shows the MagSafe 2, two Thunderbolt ports and a USB 3 port, while the right side shows an SD card slot, HDMI and another USB 3 port. The poster also uploaded other various images such as the battery layout and one with the alleged laptop booted up in Windows.

For comparisons sake, the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro has the same ports in the same configuration:

If you thought these images could be pictures from the 15 inch model, it would show the obvious speaker grilles beside the keyboard:

Rumours of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display have ramped up leading to Apple’s media event next week. This morning alleged price leaks noted the 13-inch unit would start at $1699US. In late August, reports claimed displays for a 13 inch Macbook Pro had already hit production lines.

Apple debuted the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro this summer at WWDC 2012. Anyone out there looking to jump on this 13″ version should it debut next week?

“Anyone out there looking to jump on this 13? version should it debut next week?”

YES!!! This is my next computer, and will hopefully depending on battery life, SSD options, processor, etc., allow me to consolidate my two Macs into one. The resolution and power of my iMac, with the portability of my 13″ MacBook Air.

Looking forward to maxing out this baby and hanging on to it for YEARS. My credit card is ready, and I’ve already drafted the Craigslist/Kijiji ads to sell my current Macs. 🙂

I wonder why the magsafe is a different colour. I have the 15 inch retina and the magsafe 2 kinda sucks. the magnet is not as strong as the other macbooks, and easily falls out. Wonder if they upgraded it.

MagSafe 2 on my latest MacBook Air is equally as weak. It’s a pain in the arse.
I suspect the blue color is some sort of pre-production paint or indicator.

This thing needs to come out like, yesterday. The 15″ ones are too expensive and my six year old Pro wants to die on me apparently.

Everyone will have “dead” computers suddenly after the announcement. 😉

Just bought a macbook air a couple months ago. Kind of wish I’d waited now.

Same, but I’ll wait for retina to come to the Air. Can’t beat the lightweight form factor.

No doubt, but the retina pro is thinner and lighter than a regular pro right? Probably would have suited my needs well.
