Apple Hires Former Senior Researcher At LG Display
Dr. Lee Jeung-jil, a former senior researcher at LG Display who was in charge of researching OLED printing technology, has recently been recruited by Apple, according to oled-info.com, a website dedicated to OLED-related information (via BrightWire).

Dr. Lee, who was apparently involved with printing technology research, worked at P-OLED pioneer firm Cambridge Display Technology, before joining LG Display. Apple has been taking keen interest in OLEDs lately, and has already won several patents involving flexible OLEDs, OLED based BLUs for LCDs, OLED control schemes and others, notes the source. Apple however has not yet confirmed the hire.
“By recruiting an OLED expert, Apple may be working to develop its own OLED display’.
With rumours of an Apple branded HDTV in the works, it seems that an OLED iOS product will come out sooner than expected.
