Apple’s Free App of the Week: Weathercube

This week’s free App of the Week from Apple is Weathercube, regularly a 99 cent download and previously featured as part of the ‘App Store Best of 2012’.

This neat weather app (seriously, how many do we really need?!) brings your weather in an interactive and fun way. By using a variety of swipes, pinches and other gestures, the app acts like a cube that delivers your weather. I can’t really explain it, you just need to download it and try it out for yourself. Weathercube reminds me of the Clear app of weather apps.

What a piece of c**p! Unintuitive interface, ugly, slow to load and what’s worse it crashed three times in the first two minutes. My wonderful AccuWeather is a page 1 star; this app didn’t last four minutes and is in the trash bin.

It’s free. Try it out and then delete it if you don’t like it. First world problems.

UI too complicated. The weather network has the same info and its easier for me to get at it. If I was an eye candy guy I could see the appeal but not for me
