Apple Maps Constantly Being Updated with Flyover Support, 3D Buildings [LIST]

The Loop has published a list of cities that have gained added Flyover support, 3D buildings and turn-by-turn navigation as part of ongoing support within Apple Maps.

In addition to all of these changes, Apple has updated city labels in cities worldwide and improved satellite imagery in a number of countries. Other updates include location information for Apple Stores, businesses, movie theaters, restaurants, airports and transit stops.

Included in the list of 3D flyover support is Vancouver, which we previously reported in the beginning of March.

The list also notes Toronto has recently gained additional support for flyover as well. Let us know if you’ve seen any changes or improvements. In the meantime, we’re still happily using Google Maps, but we’re glad Apple is keeping up with improvements to its Maps app.

Google isn’t necessary ‘better’, but their recent updates to their iOS apps (Chrome, Gmail, Drive, Maps, Search) has been pretty awesome. GOOGLE FTW!

Already available for Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver. Is that what you’re referring to?

No, what you’re referring to is “flyover,” which is awesome, but notice my above screenshot of manhattan in “standard” map view.

Hmm you’re right. Nothing here yet for 3D buildings view–how do you toggle this view?
