Sony is rumoured to announce its “lens cameras” very soon. Sony’s site previously leaked the “lens cameras” which will attach to iOS and Android devices and act as a camera lens by using Wi-Fi.
Sony Alpha Rumors have obtained images showing the rumoured QX10 lens camera in a light gold champagne colour – which would go nicely with the rumoured champagne coloured iPhone 5S. The QX10 will reportedly cost $250 and is rumoured to feature a 1/2.3-inch 18-megapixel sensor and f/3.3-5.9 lens.
Another image depicts a higher-end QX100 lens camera complete with buttons and labels. The QX100 will reportedly cost $450 and feature a 1-inch 20.2-megapixel sensor and f/1.8-4.9 Carl Zeiss lens.
Both lenses are said to include 1080p video recording at 30 frames-per-second and feature optical stabilization. Images and video can be saved to memory within the lens itself or directly on your smartphone. It is rumoured that you will be able to control zoom, white balance, exposure, and focus from your mobile device. An NFC tag that sits at the top of the lens cameras means that you will be able to pair the lens with your phone without going deep into settings.
These “lens cameras” are expected to be announced at Sony’s September 4th press conference at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin.

kind of cool, and with the range of wifi, you could set them up and not actually have to be to close to them. Great if you want them in a higher location then where you are, or on a mini helicopter lol

Samething applies to Blutooth, and the bandwidth is much less than WiFi.
Finally! I’ve been looking for something like this. The current third-party “zoom” lenses attachments either require a case or too bulky to carry, or just too underpowered.
