Mac Studio and Mac Mini May be Difficult to Find for Months, Apple Confirms

Apple Named as Most Innovative Company for Ninth Consecutive Year
Some say Apple is doomed, because it can’t innovate; but for some reason Apple is nearing the sale of its 700 millionth iDevice. And considering that the launch of the iPhone 5s and 5c have set a new record for first-weekend sales, I think the date must be very close. The key to Apple’s success may not be unknown (for those who think Apple’s sales numbers are worrisome), but the majority of senior executives think Apple is the most innovative company of all (via the Wall Street Journal).
The statement comes from Boston Consulting Group’s 2013 “Most Innovative Companies” report, which listed Apple has the No. 1 company for the ninth consecutive year, seconded by Samsung, while Google retained third place.
The 2013 report examines companies and innovation through the lens of what gives successful innovators their edge. For the first time, we asked respondents to rate their companies’ innovation performance relative to their peers in the marketplace. Approximately one-fifth rated their own performance as strong, another fifth assessed their performance as weak, and about 60 percent said it was neutral or average. In addition to comparing the practices of stronger and weaker innovators, we explore five factors that lead to strength in innovation: the commitment of senior management, the ability to leverage intellectual property (IP), a customer focus, strong management of the innovation portfolio, and well-defined and governed processes.
Innovation is the key spice to maintaining a competitive edge in the marketplace, but it’s also difficult to measure. Anyways, here is the list of the top 20 most innovative companies:

Toyota this year came out with a plug-in Prius, no?
Sony has a couple of dust-proof, waterproof phones on the market not to mention the PS4 that’s about to hit stores.
VW continues to lower prices on their vehicles, somehow finding a way to pay their workers high wages while at the same time offering some of the most affordable vehicles on the market.
Not sure what Apple can tout as being innovative this past year other than adding a fingerprint scanner to the iPhone.
Not trying to bash Apple, but clearly the results in this report were heavily influenced by a company’s image rather than what new ideas were brought to market in 2012-2013.
The new A7 design, the new Camera, their new process to add color to the metal, The new M7 chip with only the surface of its use has been scratched. Their new low power bluetooth thingy. All the new patents they filed this year. it goes on. The water proof is actually a license from and company bought out by 3M i think.
New processor and camera? How is that more innovative than other cell phone companies like Samsung or Motorola?
Low power Bluetooth is not an Apple innovation.
New patents? Come on. Apple is not the only company that files patents.
Waterproof tech bought from 3M? Fair enough. Didn’t know that. But didn’t Apple just do the same thing with the fingerprint sensor tech?
they bought the company so its theirs. And the camera sensors are larger and not the type you would see in a phone. M7 is a new motion/accelerator chip, and its architecture is way different then anything out there. Hell their touch screen is better than anything out there, and most of that is the way they helped develop the capacitance sensors.
Planned obsolescence isn’t innovative. Giving your new phone a gold back or a plastic back and copying android isn’t innovative. Changing an iPod to a a bigger iPod and calling it an iPad, then splitting the difference and calling it an iPad mini isn’t innovative.
