For those with an online Shopify store, the company yesterday launched their free credit card reader in Canada to allow their merchants to accept payments from Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
The Shopify card reader can be used with the Shopify Mobile iPhone app or the Shopify POS iPad app and rates are based on merchant Shopify plans.
How to get your free card reader?
If you’re in Canada or the U.S., you can order your free Shopify mobile card reader by logging into the app, navigating to the ‘Accept Payments’ screen and confirming your mailing address.
Shopify says their new Canadian hardware store has Shopify POS hardware kits available and from April 1-4, their Toronto pop-up store will offer free mobile card readers and hardware for sale as well. Shopify was created in Ottawa back in 2006 and merchants have over 90,000 stores worldwide.
