Watch These People React to an iPhone 6 Mockup in New York City

UrAvgConsumer hit the streets of New York City with an iPhone 6 mockup to see what people thought about the rumoured larger form factor of Apple’s next flagship smartphone.

The reactions by people off the street varied, with a lot of people saying that they would not buy a larger phone because the current 4-inch handset is a perfect size.

My favorite comment was “It looks like a Samsung phone,” which is expected given Samsung’s reputation with its Galaxy Note series and its most recent Galaxy S5, both of which offer displays that are over 5-inches in size.

Apple is expected to preview iOS 8 and Mac OS X 10.10 at their WorldWide Developers Conference, which is only a week away. The company is reportedly planning to launch its next-generation iPhone, the iPhone 6, in the August-September timeframe, with the health and fitness-focused iWatch coming during the second half of this year.

The iPhone 6 is rumoured to feature a 4.7-inch screen, with a completely new design. Rumours also point to a second model of the iPhone 6 with a 5.5-inch screen, which will reportedly launch later in the year.

He never claimed to be Apple, he was just asking if people if they liked that design compared to the current iPhone. He seemed pretty clear that it was a mockup and not necessarily what Apple was releasing, which I appreciated.

He is assuming the role of a market researcher (asking public what they think of it, if they’d buy it, etc.), and he clearly doesn’t have authorization from Apple.
