Petro Canada Mobility Student Promo: 100 Mins, Unlimited SMS, 500MB Data for $30
Petro Canada Mobility is a pay-as-you-go cellphone service that runs on the Rogers network, and its monthly plans feature free voicemail, caller ID, call waiting , Canada-wide anytime minutes, no activation fees, credit checks or contracts.
Right now there’s a back to school promo offering the following:
- $30/month
- 100 anytime Canada-wide minutes
- Unlimited text messages
- 500 MB of data

If you’re a student that needs basic smartphone usage, this is a decent deal.
There are similar offers too, as 7-Eleven offers the same plan but for $35 per month. However, if you buy a $100 airtime voucher, you get 20% credit which lowers the cost effectively to $28 per month (and it comes with a free SIM card). Let us know if you’re going to jump on this!

Who’s network do they use?
Rogers, as stated
Wow what a TERRIBLE plan! I have a 20$ unlimited voice, SMS and Canadian roaming long distance plan with Fido. Without any discounts! Frankly, the above plan is an absolute insult!
Your plan doesn’t have data which most kids want. This is not a terrible plan completely. As stated it’s a pay-as-you-go plan, and it’s also geared for students. I’d say for $30/month with 500mb data and unlimited text, is pretty good. Most students I work with usually just text each other, rather than call. And with the 500mb data, does help with light surfing on their Instagram and Facebook.
Yeah it’s actually a pretty good deal. I pay more than that on Fido and the only benefit I get on my BYOD plan is unlimited evenings and weekends and more minutes. If I could port numbers to and from prepaid I would be all over this.
No it’s a terrible deal. Even with a 10$ data add on, my plan is more value at the same price! If it is geared towards students, it would have unlimited voice at the very least with no less than 1 GB of data.
Show me on a website where your plan is? Just because it isn’t good for you, doesn’t mean it’s a bad deal. For many people all they need is text/data. I personally have a higher need for data and text than calls. 100min/month would do me just fine.
Your magic plans don’t exist. You must post a link to show a plan that includes A: Canada wide calling B:unlimited texts C:500mb data for $30 or less before you go around calling things terrible. I live on the west coast and my family lives east coast so unlimited calling after 7pm doesn’t even work for me. They are sleeping.
500mb = 10$. My plan is better. Period.
I’ve checked the Fido pre-pay section and the $25/month plan is pretty nice; unlimited text, unlimited evenings and weekends. But the add-on for data is $20 = 500mb.
I would have to agree with you if your $20 plan + $10 for 500mb data would be a great plan. Although I cannot find it on the Fido website.

I just spoke to a rep and they pertty much said this price is only good up until september 28th. and once its gone, bumps to 40$ for the same offer but 200min.
