808 Audio HEX Bluetooth Speakers [Video Review]

HEX thumb

I love listening to music, whether it’s with my family or on my own, there’s something relaxing about listening to music. So I like to make sure my audio sounds good. So when I received three new wireless Bluetooth speakers from 808 Audio to try, I was very excited.

808 Audio has been working with audio experts and DJ’s to produce some speakers that not only deliver studio quality sound, but are affordable to everyone They have four different bluetooth speakers and sent me their HEX SL, HEX TL and the HEX XL to give a try. Here’s my review of all three speakers.

Overall I’m very impressed with these three speakers. As advertised, the audio quality is really good. You get really nice sounding bass without it overpowering the rest of the audio. It’s a nice change from some speakers that offer big bass but then the rest of the audio sounds muddy.

As I mention in my video review, as you reach the high end with the HEX TL, I started hearing a little bit of distortion. The sound and bass smarted to get a little muddy. This wasn’t an issue with the HEX SL or the HEX XL. It’s not a lot, and definitely not something that I would say prevents me from recommending it.

What’s nice about these speakers is there is one for all your needs and price range. 808 Audio has taken the time to make some really great Bluetooth speakers and if you’re in the market for some, I highly recommend you check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

Thanks Dennis. I use my Canon 60D along with the 24-70 or 100 macro lenses.

While technically you’re probably right. It sounds really good. When you plug in the device via the AUX in, it sounds extremely close to, if not the same as it does over Bluetooth.

I tried a bunch of bluetooth speakers in London drugs including this one. I’m a professional musician and the distortion really bothered me. I bought the iHome speaker and it works great.

I should also mention that the version of the IHome bluetooth speaker I got also had a radio, has an internal rechargeable battery that lasts for 6 hours, and sounds cleaner and better than the similar Hex – and it’s cheaper too.
