Apple’s Anticipated Wearable Device Won’t Ship Until Early 2015: Re/code

John Paczkowski from Re/code is at it again, with his little birdies telling him Apple’s wearable device, set to be announced next month alongside new iPhone 6 models, won’t be available until next year:

So that new wearable device Apple is introducing on September 9? It’s going to be a while before anyone is actually wearing it. Sources in position to know tell me it won’t arrive at market for a few months. “It’s not shipping any time soon,” said one. So when does Apple plan to ship its eagerly anticipated wearable? That’s not clear, but my understanding is that we’re unlikely to see it at retail until after the holiday season — think early 2015.

The news means the new Apple wearable won’t make it to market in time for the busy holiday shopping season. Paczkowski says “it would be unwise to expect pre-orders for the device to begin on the Friday following its unveiling,” which clearly is meant to set expectations for the device, which was also confirmed in a report late yesterday by Bloomberg.

Paczkowski has some solid sources within Apple and clearly is relaying information to set expectations for next month’s big announcements, set to take place at the Flint Center, where Apple is constructing its own building suspected to be related to the September 9 media event.

To date, no leaks have surfaced revealing what Apple’s wearable could look like (whereas the iPhone 6 has ‘leaked’ lots), leading us to suspect it will be possibly manufactured in the USA opposed to the company’s vast Asian supply chain, similar to the new Mac Pro, which caught everyone by surprise when it was announced.
