Videotron’s LTE Network Now Live in Quebec
After launching its wireless network four years ago, Videotron has reached another important milestone in the carrier’s history: It has launched its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, the company announced today.
Videotron’s 4G LTE services reach nearly 90% of Quebec’s population and support theoretical download speeds of up to 150 Mbps.
“At Videotron, innovation is rooted in 50 years of history,” commented Manon Brouillette, President and CEO of Videotron. “Today, we have reached another watershed in our progress by bringing consumers this state-of-the-art mobile network. The roll-out of LTE service demonstrates our commitment to satisfying consumers’ needs and holding our place in our customers’ hearts and hearths.”
As soon as iOS 8 goes live, Videotron will support the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, with other devices to be added in the coming weeks. Right now, Videotron customers can purchase the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5c and the 16GB iPhone 5s for $0 by choosing either the $74.95 or $79.95 plan. The 32GB iPhone 5s costs $49.95 while the 64GB version costs $149.95 with the $79.95 plan, which includes unlimited calls, texts, and data.
