Cogeco Mobile Customers Can Now Buy Phones Through Best Buy. Here’s How It Works.

Cogeco has partnered with global device protection firm Assurant to expand how its mobile customers buy and manage smartphones in Canada.

Under the new setup, Cogeco mobile subscribers get direct access to an inventory of network-compatible devices through Best Buy. The lineup includes new phones, refurbished units, and certified open-box models listed on BestBuy.ca, with flexible financing options available at checkout.

Assurant handles background hardware logistics, including device protection plans, trade-in processing, and upgrade options. Cogeco continues to manage wireless network connectivity and customer billing. The collab aims to give consumers more accessible choices when purchasing hardware, especially for those looking to avoid paying full price for new flagships.

“By integrating Assurant’s device ecosystem with Best Buy Canada’s trusted device availability directly into the Cogeco experience, we are simplifying the entire customer journey. This strategic partnership strengthens our competitive position in the wireless market and it ensures convenience, choice, and superior value for our customers,” said Nancy Audette, Chief Growth Officer at Cogeco.

Assurant Canada President Paul Cosgrove explained that combining protection and trade-in capabilities into one buying experience gives users clearer hardware management options.

“By integrating trusted device access, protection and upgrade solutions into a single journey, we’re helping customers confidently purchase, protect and manage their devices while supporting greater choice, affordability and convenience throughout the device lifecycle,” Cosgrove said in a statement to iPhone in Canada.

Cogeco subscribers can browse compatible device options and review financing details on the carrier’s main portal.
